Remembering a Legion 
EDWIN MAURICE BIGSBY
1928 – 2010 MR. EDWIN MAURICE BIGSBY, a true renaissance man who inspired many with his gift of music. Affectionately known as Pop, served as Band Director for more than five decades at Booker T. Washington Senior High School. Family and friends came together to celebrate and give thanks for his life at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 19th at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, 1501 Jensen Dr. He was rested, Tuesday, May 18th in the Rose Chapel of Mabrie Memorial Mortuary from 1 until 4:00 pm and at the church from 5 until 8 pm where his family was present at 5:30 pm to receive calls of condolences. A Memorial Service was scheduled for 7 pm. He leaves to continue his legacy and cherish his memories a loving son, Edwin M. Bigsby Jr. (Tamera); his sisters, Marjorie Bigsby, Lillian Brown (J.C.) and Winifred Williams (Weldon) and many other dear relatives and friends.

Sis. Millie Hall was recognized aboard the Carnival Ecstasy as the Award receipient for her outstanding service to the Body of Christ.
She is an active member of Windsor Village United Methodist Church, where Kirby H. Caldwell is the Senior Pastor.
It is her commitment to serve God by using her spiritual gifts in M.E.A.T. Ministries that earned her his award. Congratulations to a faithful servant!

Minister Lenora Phelps will be honored as a Community Leader on Saturday, March 28th 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Brady's Landing (8505 Cypress St.,Houston, TX 77012). Houston City Council Member Jolanda Jones will be the speaker of the hour.
The Bible says that if any be great among us let him first become a servant (Matthew 23:11). Lenora Phelps has proven to be a true servant of the Most High! The bible also speaks of giving honor to whom honor is due (Romans 13:7) and that is what Visions of Rose Outreach Ministries would like to do for Rev. Phelps on this special day.
