I just wanted to let you know that at least 5 young people gave their lives to Christ on Sunday.  I was crying so much I could hardly count. Pastor Martin allowed another pastor to minister to the youth and this pastor requested that we use bibles. So your beautiful red bibles were passed out throughout the chapel.  Normally we never have half as many as we need, but this time we did!!  I know that there is Power in the WORD OF GOD!  It is something about holding a bible and reading along with the pastor or minister as they teach! Thank you again for the house set of bibles. I pray that God fills you with the  joy and excitement I felt to see those young people saved!!!  One young man was so frustrated before chapel and did not want to go, But before the services were over he was at the altar too requesting prayer. Go ahead and shout, Our God can do anything but fail !!!!!

I want to thank Rev. Lenora Phelps and M.E.A.T. Ministries for allowing me to be a part of such a wonderful establishment. On Saturday 12/13/08, I and my fellow Alpha Team members went to the Covenant House to donate Clothing and personal items for young adults that were in need. I was overwhelmed at first, maybe because I had a flash back to my younger years when I was in need just like these young children are. There was no sanctuary or establishment like the Covenant House to go to. Covenant House provides three hot meals a day to young adults, a place to lay your head, transportation to seek jobs and further their education. I was just glad that my Lord and Savior brought me through a tough time and allowed me to be able to give back as I did on Saturday. God is awesome as only He can turn a sinner into a saint and allow them to seek and help the less fortunate. It was an honor and a privilege to serve on the M.E.A.T. Ministries’ team.      Rosalyn J.  My job is one of those places. I would constantly receive praise reports from my Supervisor. I worked a one person account for a travel company. I was my own Boss. Being alone was the best place for me, because I could study the Bible and Pray when I was not busy. Well, not of my knowledge, the on-site manager felt that I was not socializing enough and maybe a little too spiritual. So, she decided she did not want me at her location. Which is really bad for her, because they blessed because of me. She called my Manager and put in claims that I was not doing my job. My Supervisor asked “what charge do you have against her. Be specific?”. Well, she could not give her any charges. She also asked the Travel Manager which is also the person who would make the final decision. She asks the same question, “specifically, what charge do you have against her?”. He explained, he did not have anything against me, but the other manager is the person with the charges"  All in all, no specific charges. Remind you of anyone “JESUS”?. So, I released my spirit from that job, on that day. That night, myself as well as 2 prayer warriors, prayed and we told God, “God you started this, now I will let You finish it”. I went to my home Office to speak with some of the other Managers regarding a new position.  One Manager, not scheduled to talk to me came in. She said, I understand you work in ministry. I told her, yes I do. She offered me a position working from home assisting with an Account called Dignity. Can I say HOME again? Dignity specializes in helping people obtain flights who have just experienced a death in the family. Not only that, but I can pray with them as well as offer words of encouragement. BUT GOD...What the devil meant for evil worked out for My good. Not only that, but God was not finished that day. When I arrived home, I received a knock on my door. This would be a Centerpoint Energy person coming to disconnect my Lights. I asked if I could call the company and he replied yes. While on the phone, I anointed the bill and began to pray. After I received 3 no’s on the phone, I went back to the agent to allow him to do what he came to do. He looked at me and said “Ma am let’s just say, you did not open your gate and he left without disconnecting my lights. Of course you know, God ain’t through yet. It pays to be a giver. I was given the privilege to help a sista out when her husband walked out on her in February. This Woman of God paid the power company to keep my service connected. I could go on, but I know you are already dancing with me in the spirit. Driving to work this morning, there is an area that I drive through called the Meadows it has its own police station and basically it’s a city like Bellaire, when the speed limit says 10 you do 10 not 11. Well the speed limit is 35 all the cars were doing 35 or 40. But there was a car that was on my tail. From Eldridge all the way to 59. He would jump from behind me to the car next to me I’m doing 35 the car next to me was doing about 40. I’m blasting 90.9 playing the gospel, or as they call it the sweetest music this side of Heaven.   When we got to 59 most of the cars got into the turning lane to get on the freeway, I got in the lane to keep straight and to let that car do what ever he needed to do and get from behind me. He pulled up along side of me on my right. I’m behind a truck.  The light turned green and the truck didn’t move, but the car that was behind me and the one that is in the right lane shot off and a car was turning under 59  smacked that car under the freeway. I had the music loud so didn’t hear a thing but watch every thing go in slow motion. The traffic stood still. The radio played "What makes your wrongs turn right? God did it. Who pays your bills when you don’t have a dime? God did it. Who will be there for you? God did it. Who is a way-maker? God did it. Who can you always trust? God did it!"  I’m so filled with the spirit this morning. I want to shout Hallelujah, so I had to write my testimony...

Martin Luther King Library Remembers: Ora Lee Harris

I received a phone call from the Martin Luther King Jr. Library on today, which is located at 150 East San Fernando Street, San Jose, CA  95112

- 408-808-2000.  They called to inform me that my mother, Ora Lee Harris, who deceased this life on March 8, 2006 had a book purchased and donated to the Library in honor of her 32 years as an employee there. 

One of my mother, co-workers, a Mrs. Thelma Nasello who is now a retired employee of the Martin Luther King Library purchased a book entitled "Southern Cooking" by Paula Dean and this book and a small plaque with my mother's name on it is now on display at the main branch of the library, 150 East San Fernando Street, San Jose, CA  95112 - 408-808-2000. 

My mother's friend Thelma called me to tell me that she worked with Ora Lee for over 30 years and that during that time Ora Lee brought so many good southern dishes to the library that she decided to purchase and give this book to the library in her honor.  She told me that my mother was a great cook and that every New Years my mother would fix a big pot of gumbo for her birthday which was on January 1st and that when she returned to work on the Monday after New Years Day she would always bring her a big bowl of gumbo and she remembers that it was always so delicious.  She also remembered the many dishes that she brought to their pot-luck and Christmas parties each year such as her specialty, peach cobbler, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato pies, just to name a few of them.

The Martin Luther King Library will be mailing me a copy of this book to my home address next week.  I wanted to let you know that this book is at the Martin Luther King Library in downtown San Jose and especially those of you who live in the San Jose area, if you are ever at the library I would love for you to stop by and view the plaque and look at the book, "Southern Cooking" by Paula Dean.  

Truly, this is a great honor in memory of my mother, Ora Lee Harris and I praise and magnify the Lord for truly her life touched many people and even now that is gone on to be with the Lord her memory lives on in the hearts and minds of many people.   The information and advertisement regarding the Martin Luther King Library is Below in this email.

Chosen

Since I was a little girl, I remember talking to the Lord.  Even while swinging in the backyard or reading books outside in my secret place, I remember looking towards the sky and talking freely to the Lord.  I knew about God.  I was in church.  I was actively serving Him.  But, it wasn’t until I was 14 years old that I really made the connection that “God is real and only He is in control of my life!”  You see, God not only saved my life physically, but he changed my life spiritually! 

It was a week day during lunch hour that me and my friend Carolyn were walking home from school.  Back in the day, you had an option to either get free lunch or go home for lunch.  I chose to go home for lunch.  There were railroad tracks between the school and my house; meaning, you had to cross the tracks in order to get to the other side where I lived.  Being young and foolish, we decided we were going to “beat” the train so we wouldn’t have to wait until it  passed before crossing.  So, we took off running; and wouldn’t you know it, I fell!  But, I didn’t just fall.  My foot got caught between the railroad tracks and I couldn’t get up!  As I laid there almost flat on my back looking up at the train that was blasting it’s horn and getting nearer and nearer, I could feel the heat from the tracks – the train was just that close.  As it got closer, the heat from the tracks intensified!  I could hear my friend screaming to the top of her lungs, “Get up, get up!”  I was terrified!  Frozen like a statue, there I laid, face up on the tracks, seeing my life flash before me!  To this day, I know it must have been God who dispatched His angels to lift my fragile body from those railroad tracks.  I remember a “thrust” of energy came over me and I jumped up with such vigor that it ripped my dress from the hemline to the neckline!  There I stood, shaking with my clothes ripped to rags, as the wind from the passing train blew against my teary face.  Between the box cars I could see my friend standing there crying on the other side of the train as it passed. 

The rest of the walk home was quiet.  I don’t remember us saying anything.  We were clearly shaken.  As I look back now, I realize that Satan tried to destroy me even at that young age because he knew what I was destined to be in Christ Jesus!  He knew God had a plan for my life and he wanted to stop it!  But God!  But God!  That day, God not only saved me from a physical death, but He changed my spiritual life as well.  I know God is real and I am so glad that only He controls my future.  Not Satan…not even me.  God is in control!  I love Him.  I thank Him and I cannot live without Him!  To God be the Glory!   Chosen -Houston, TX

I always said that I wanted to be like you when I grow up. You were always a woman on the go (personally and spiritually)....I can recall when you prayed for me and my daughter when she was about to have one of her many surgeries.  Not only did it inspire me, but I felt the love and the blessings of the Lord right there and I knew then that all was well. If you were to see my little lady now, it's hard to believe that she's the same little girl that went through surgery after surgery and all I can say is look at God's work. She asks me all the time, 'Momma why do you cry and shout in church?' and I just tell her that the Lord has been good to me through her.  That is my miracle and I praise her and Him for keeping me strong through it all. Sorry to run on, but needed to let you know that you are an inspiration in my life. May the Lord continue to pour out His many blessings upon you. And I will as always keep you in my prayers..." The Holy Spirit spoke and said, write it down while it is fresh..

Being a child of The King, means many tests and testimonies. On March 14th, I experienced true spiritual warfare. Warfare happens when the enemy launches an attack in an area where you believe is a solid foundation.

I was blessed tremendously by what God did on this Faith Journey!  I too am at lost for words!  I can say this though; the move of God's hand was evident in so many ways.  I am so glad we did not allow the enemy to rob us of this blessing.  All we needed to do was step out on faith and God did this rest!  I can't wait until next year!  Rev. Retreat Reviews.....

 I just wanted to share with you what a wonderful time the B.O.D. had on our faith journey. God blessed us continuously!  I’m really lost for words to really express how He blessed us.   Everyday we started with morning glory and we walked in his anointing the rest of the day!  Our mission trip to the Pines blessed them & us.  They received us and the word of the Lord.  From that point on God blessed us DOUBLE.  I know Min. Phelps & Min. Breakfield will share more details with you.  I also wanted to share that we are so blessed to have a leader that truly loves the Lord; she is a visionary, a motivator, a true example of Christ love. How do I know this? Because she showered us daily with the love of Jesus! Know that you are apart of something BIG that God has blessed and I believe in my heart that HE will continue to bless MEAT Ministries because our focus and purpose is all about HIM, the one and only true God.  I pray that all of you are excited and ready to receive all that God has for us.

This is my recent personal testimony...

I'm so thankful that God loves me so much!

This morning, as usual, I took the freight elevator to the 19th floor where I work.  There were only two of us on the elevator.  The elevator started to make a loud sound.  We both looked at each other and didn't really say anything.  She got off and I stayed on.  When the door closed, the elevator immediately stared dropping (going up and down in short intervals).  Now, you know I'm animated!  I started screaming, "Help me Jesus, Help me Jesus!"  You could hear what sounded like cables popping and the elevator making all kinds of strange noises.  The door opened and I jumped off the elevator.  The door closed and I could hear the elevator going down really fast.  It sounded like the cable were popping like crazy!  I went in and told my supervisor and we called building security.  Sure enough, the elevator had broken.  It not only broke, but it will be out of service for at least a week.  It could have broken with me in it!  This reminds me of the song by Kurt Franklin "GOD BLOCKED IT!"  The devil is a liar.  I know he doesn't just want to harm me.  He wants me dead!  But God blocked it!  Thank you Jesus!  Yeah, I'm crying.....AND PRAISING GOD!

Thank-you Rev. Phelps for praying for my needs. I just want you to know that your ministries prayers have gone a long way. My daughter has had a healthy baby and delivery, she and her family are doing well.  I was able to go there to be with my family, and returned home in good health. I had also asked for prayer for my brothers' drug addiction, while he was incarcerated. I pray that God will take the taste of crack cocaine and any other drug out of his system. I also asked for prayer, that I could get closer to my biological father and all my sisters and brothers. So far, I have spoken a few times to all but one of my brothers. My father and I have spoken a few times, but he always rushes me off the phone, or just doesn't say much of anything. . . .

I am now waiting for a scheduled award and back pay from the government for injuries that happened to me while at work. I am owed back pay, over $14,000.00 plus the scheduled award for being injured on the job. One of the nurses pulled the chair from behind me, when I went to sit back down. I broke my back and banged up my left knee, I was out of work on and off for 4 years… So I did not get paid, nor did they place me back to work. You see they wanted me to just give up, but we serve a mighty, mighty God and he knows the plans that he has for us, so to sum this all up, I got the Union involved and a position was made for me within 3 days, when I had been waiting 6 months to be placed back at work, plus I had not gotten paid since June 2005. But God is so good, that he always make a way out of no way. The bill collectors called day and night, threatening letters in the mail, but I never gave up, I just keep believing that God was going to perform a miracle for me, and he did and I am back to work, still in my house that they kept threatening to foreclose on. So I said all of that to say this, I just happen to come across your ministry that day, when I wrote to you and I thank Meat Ministries for praying for me, my prayer was answered that same week. Thank-you, Jesus......

I plan to sow into MEAT Ministries, when I get my settlement, because that is what is in my spirit. I feel that maybe my situation could bless someone else. . . .
