Dear Family of God:
Have you ever been driving down the road and your mind wondered to a pleasant thought or fond memory? It brought a smile to your face, didn’t it? Sometimes it even brings tears – tears of joy. That is exactly what happens when I think of my recent journey with M.E.A.T. Ministries to Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Now, I’ve been on a lot of retreats – but none like this! M.E.A.T. Ministries’ Faith Journey Mission Retreat was exactly what the name said it was! It was a journey that required you to step out on faith; mission work at its best; and a retreat that replenished, refreshed and renewed! It was awesome!
Journey is defined as “A process or course likened to traveling; a passage.” In the 18th Chapter of the Book of Judges, you will find the scripture…"Go in peace. Your journey has the LORD's approval." M.E.A.T.’s journey certainly had the Lord’s approval. We saw the hand of God move mightily from start to finish – from the beginning to the end!
I thank God for giving each of us, who were blessed to take this journey, His wisdom to know that all we needed to do was trust Him and He would do the rest. 1 Corinthians 2:5 says, “…so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.” God’s powerful Word went forward and touched to hearts of many at Pines Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Both the staff and patients felt the anointing as it filled that place! Conviction, deliverance and spirits were lifted as we ministered to the souls of young and old alike. Just the joyful look on the faces of those who are sometimes forgotten was so rewarding.
As we witnessed the manifestation of a prophetic word spoken over the lives of two of the Directors of M.E.A.T., words do not give justice to the joy we had as we ministered on this retreat. God gave us DOUBLE blessings in many areas – even in our mission work. We were blessed to also minister at Garland Rehabilitation Center in Hot Springs. At the request of a total stranger, God lead us to a new vineyard to labor; and believe me, we reaped a harvest! “For a long time now—to this very day—you have not deserted your brothers but have carried out the mission the LORD your God gave you.” Joshua 22:3
I cannot tell you enough how pleased I was with the bonding, the fellowship and the love that was shared on this faith journey. God is so faithful! All of us need replenishing sometimes. Even Jesus had to still away so that God could pour back into his spirit all that He needed for His journey. This was an experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life. I’m looking forward to M.E.A.T.’s next retreat. Thank you “God, my strength, my stronghold, my safe retreat when trouble descends…” Jeremiah 16:19.
